We will discuss origins of the virus, transmission, signs and symptoms of COVID and risk factors, and current status. This will be followed by a discussion on current dental office restrictions, screening patients and recommended protocols.
Hand hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment
In the context of risk of transmission, in this webinar we will first address the recommended methods of performing hand hygiene. This will be followed by the use of personal protective equipment, including how this should be used. A brief review of current recommendations should a shortage of PPE exist in some locations will be included.
Managing Clinical Contact Surfaces and Dental Unit Waterlines.
This webinar will briefly review current information on the survivability of COVID-19 and other microorganisms on surfaces, and the methods of spread in the dental office. This webinar provides an update on instrument reprocessing. While the protocols have not changed, instrument reprocessing is one of the key components in preventing the transmission of microorganisms and disease. We will emphasize key points and key causes of errors during reprocessing.
Update on Testing, Potential Treatments and Potential Vaccines
In this final session we will discuss testing currently being performed and those being investigated to confirm infection with SRS-COV-2 as well as immunity testing. After this we will discuss treatments currently being investigated around the world for COVID-19 and finish with an update on research into potential vaccines.
