Abstract:
Dentists are usually totally unprepared for one of the largest responsibilities of owning and/or managing a practice, the hiring and retention of quality staff. The practice that commits to building a great team enjoys practice growth, financial stability and daily enjoys going to the practice! Staff management is rarely, if ever taught in dental schools, resulting in the majority of dentists learn on the job. Problems range from minor misunderstandings to a practice experiencing high staff turnover. The annual cost of replacing an employee today is quoted as being higher than one year’s salary.
Introduction:
This program is very structured. #1 Attract the Best #2 Manage for Harmony #3 Handle issues before they grow into problems. This master class is designed to show the many benefits of being proactive in one’s staff management skills. One of the biggest challenges dentists’ faces is balancing how to focus on delivering their clinical expertise to patients while balancing the practice needs to be managed: not a responsibility most dentists going to dental school necessary were prepared to sign up for!
Opening a scratch practice with her dentist husband, Jenny learnt by trial and error of the hazards endured by a small business owner uneducated in HR management and compliance. Jenny then moved into the speaking and consulting world that Jenny built on her dental practice management expertise where she managed her corporate staff and an outside coaching team of eight.
Doctors are invited to bring their own specific questions/frustrations as Jenny is committed to customize her knowledge for the needs of the attendees. Jenny has worked as a ‘dental’ spouse in two dental business. Incorporating a spouse into the HR mix, potentially has huge benefits, when essential key guidelines are followed. This program has a detailed workbook.

Abstract:
Warm gutta percha techniques represent the “golden standard” of obturation, but in the last years the introduction of bioceramic sealers is changing the scenario. These sealers were deeply investigated in literature and this class of sealers represents a real game changer in obturation. Thanks to their properties these class of sealer make the cold techniques more modern and predictable.
Introduction:
Many advantages arise from the use of the premixed bioceramic sealers, especially in term of time management and ergonomics. The proper use of bioceramic sealer gives even more options to the clinician in order to treat easily even challenging situation as perforation, stripping, open apex MTA is probably the most researched material in dentistry, outcomes are always great and it is considered the ideal material for sealing the pathways of communication between the root canal system and its surrounding tissues. From literature we know that is nontoxic, non carcinogenic, non genotoxic, biocompatible, insoluble in tissue fluids, dimensionally stable and in presence of moisture its sealing ability is not affected. Abstract:
To shape the root canal properly we need to know the performance of the files inside the canal. When we know this behavior, we can shape the canal with any
system on the market.
Introduction:
The use of rotary NiTi systems is today the best choice to make a predictable, quick, and effective root canal preparation.
In this lecture we will focus on the performance of NiTi instruments inside the root canal. We will try to explain it scientifically and with numerous studies how changes in design, alloy, and the mechanical movement, can improve the performance of our rotary NiTi instruments. We will try to identify the stresses (torsional and flexural) presents in our instruments to try to prevent future fractures and to improve our handling.
We will be focus on the preservation of the peri cervical dentine and how to avoid canal transportation during our shaping procedures. Minimally invasive endodontics is a “must” today that keep the original anatomy of the canal and reduce flexural stress of out instruments.
New heat treatments are helping to manufacture better instruments (more secure, more flexible and more efficient).
Learning Objectives:
- To learn how to shape the canal with security
- To learn how to take advantage of the new heat treatments.
- To know how to reduce the dentine reduction in our shaping procedure.
- To realize of the difference between breakage resistance of the files and efficiency of the instruments.

Abstract:
During the shaping, the original anatomy respect allows the operator to prepare the endodontic space saving radicular dentine, with an ideal shape for receiving an efficient volume of irrigant and the three-dimensional obturation. The execution of shapes that fit and meet the original anatomy decreases the risk of creating alterations in the morphology of the root canal itself., such as ledges or transport, regarded by the international scientific literature as factors predisposing to failure of the therapy. The creation of a ledge during the shaping is the most common iatrogenic damage to the endodontic anatomy and it can be created by manual rotary files as well: the risk of ledge creation increases when it comes to face complex anatomies as curve and narrow canals.
Introduction:
To prevent the ledge formation there are many tips that will be shown during the lecture, the most important is definitely the knowledge of the “shaping triad”: the shaping technique, rotary files features, and how to move the files during the shaping technique. Once the ledge is created, its management is crucial to complete the shaping the cleaning and the obturation at the proper working length to not decrease the outcome of the treatment: hence the ledge management is really important to assure to the tooth a positive outcome. The ledge can be managed with manual or rotary files, but its complete elimination depends on the position and on the size of the ledge. In some cases, the complete elimination of the ledge could lead to the creation of additional alterations of the canal anatomy or to the separation of the file: recognizing these cases is really important to apply a proper strategy that involves even the cleaning and the obturation in order to safely get a positive outcome of the treatment.
Learning Objectives:
- Comprehend the importance of the evaluation of the endodontic anatomy
- Comprehend that the respect of the original endodontic anatomy is a goal of the shaping evened in complex cases
- Comprehend that the creation of iatrogenic damages as ledge depends on a misuse of the instrumentation and in a not correct approach to the canal
- Comprehend that iatrogenic damages created during the shaping negatively affect the outcome of the therapy
- Comprehend the knowledge of the features of the rotary instrumentation is mandatory for its proper use

Abstract:
A referred patient has ‘bought’ before they walk through the door! A referred patient arrives with potential plans to say ‘yes’ to treatment unless their initial visit experience is less satisfactory than anticipated. Happy patients become practice ambassadors, spreading word in the community of their satisfaction. Creating a strong referral practice is the most effective approach for building practice growth and financial stability. When clinical services are supported with patient communication skills, presented in a pro-active, consistent manner, and couched from the patient’s perspective, practice growth results. Proven, practical and logical systems/techniques provide tools to decrease stress and increase effectiveness.
Introduction:
This Master class invites dentists to appreciate that patients judge a dentist on everything but the quality of care! The list ranges from your website message, telephone management techniques, the facility, staff interaction with both doctor and patients, and how patients perceive the dentist, all play a key part in a patient’s decision to consider and accept treatment. A new patient’s progression in your practice is very structured. Ideally your reputation attracts patients who have already ‘bought before they walk through the door! Educated to benefits of receiving treatment, they accept the cost, are treated, and remain in the practice for their Continuing Care needs. Happy patients grow into becoming practice ambassadors and are the foundation of a successful referral practice. The importance of the staff’s role in supporting the dentist’s patient care cannot be over-emphasized. Patients judge dentists by their staff perhaps more than dentists realize or appreciate. This program clearly explores and defines what a dentist role needs to be to ensure doctor, staff and patient communication and service is of the highest level. Finally, this program addresses the special needs and concerns of the multi doctor or group practice where misunderstandings confuse patients and create stress for everyone.
Learning Objectives:
- Analyse how websites, social media etc., impact building a referral practice
- Re-motivate the practice’s ‘lost patients’ to return and re-consider their needed treatment
- Instill the “Inform before you perform’ concept into clinical and management protocols
- Elevate doctor-patient financial conversations to support not sabotage treatment acceptance
- Educate doctor to tips and techniques to guarantee their role in scheduling is productive

Abstract:
The presentation discusses the basics of smile analysis, planning a case of indirect Veneers and understanding the importance of Index fabrications and proper guided preparation The treatment of esthetic areas has received a great deal of attention since the turn of the century. The constant search for a natural, harmonious, and pleasant smile clearly reflects the fact that there are more-demanding and better-informed patients. An accurate knowledge of facial topography and the dynamics of how the patient performs their basic oral functions – such as speaking, swallowing, and chewing – is essential and must form the basis of any analysis of intraoral aspects. Several groups around the world have developed laboratory and clinical protocols in order to predict, with a high degree of accuracy, what the result of treatment will be for the patient (i.e. for completely edentulous patients or those who will receive porcelain cemented restorations on natural teeth). The presentation discusses strategies of how to relate appropriately facial and intraoral aspects. The use of images/ photography in which the patient exhibits lips parted in a resting position is essential for determining the best length and exposure of upper incisors at the end of treatment. The use of facial photographs allows a better identification of potential discrepancies associated with esthetic sites. Soft-tissue esthetics represents a constant challenge for the clinician, and its accomplishment requires a differentiated preoperative individualized treatment plan, followed by a meticulous execution of each of the proposed steps in order to limit potential errors.
