The event Included Student and Poster Competitions with the Participants from Across the World
Dubai- United Arab Emirates, 1 July 2021: The organizing committee of the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition – AEEDC Dubai 2021 announced that the business deals sealed during the 25th edition of the event reached $3.8 Billion. Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of AEEDC Dubai, GSDA, and Chairman of INDEX Holding said: “We are very proud of the impressive success that ‘AEEDC Dubai 2021’ has witnessed throughout its journey, which completes a quarter of a century this year. This success would not have been possible without the continuous support ‘AEEDC Dubai’ receives from participants, speakers, exhibitors, supporters, and dental experts around the world who consider ‘AEEDC Dubai’ a monumental platform that allows them to come together as a community and enrich their knowledge and learn from one another. On the other hand, ‘AEEDC Dubai’ exhibition is considered to be a rich opportunity for networking and building long-standing relationships with potential and existing clients, and we are proud to announce that the business deals sealed during ‘AEEDC Dubai 2021’ increased by 10% in comparison to last year, and reached $3.8 Billion.”
He concluded: “I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success that ‘AEEDC Dubai’ has reached, and everyone who believed in the vision of ‘AEEDC Dubai’ since its inception. We will continue to work together towards the elevation of Dentistry worldwide.”
Moreover, 55,000 visitors and participants from 155 countries participated in AEEDC Dubai and gained tremendous value from the 173 scientific sessions presented during ‘AEEDC Dubai’ conference, whereas the third day included sessions that discussed key topics such as: Pediatric Dentistry, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Forensic Dentistry, and more.
Furthermore, ‘AEEDC Dubai’ hosted virtual student competitions, which composed of 4 main rounds; Elimination A&B, Semi-Final and Final Rounds. The participants were dental students from some of the most renowned universities in the region and the world, where participants were able to participate virtually through a game-based platform, for a chance to win cash prizes, and learn from their colleagues and peers.
The Knowledge champion of the year 2021 was the team from Qassim University, College of Dentistry, whereas the second place was won by the King Khalid University team, and the Ibn Sina National College for Medical Studies team won the third place.
Additionally, ‘AEEDC Dubai’ hosted Poster Competitions, where participant from countries like KSA, Canada, Morocco, Iraq, Bahrain, UAE and other countries came together to present their posters which tackled various topics such as: ‘Knowledge, Attitude & Practices towards COVID-19, A Comparison between Three Gulf Countries – A Cross Sectional Study’, ‘Advantages and effectiveness of clear aligner therapy than fixed appliance for orthodontic treatment during outbreak of covid-19’, ‘Evaluation of Cross-Sectional Root Canal Shape and Presentation of New Classification of Its Changes Using CBCT’, ‘New Trends in Forensic Odontology’ and others.
Participants had the freedom to join from anywhere in the world, as the poster competitions were held in a hybrid format. Additionally, the posters were judged by some of the most prominent names in the field. The winner of the first place was Dr. Zuhair Saleh Natto, with his poster about ‘Association of SARS-CoV-2 with Dental Problem’, the second place was won by Dr. Mashael Alqahtani, where she presented her poster about ‘Frequency of Color Vision Deficiency among Saudi Dental Students: A Cross-Sectional Study’, and the third place was won by Dr. Amani Alzubaidi, with her poster that tackled ‘Self-Reported Determinants of Tooth Brushing Frequency in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’.
