Dubai- United Arab Emirates, 30 June 2021: The activities of the 25^th edition of AEEDC Dubai, the largest gathering for dentists worldwide continue on its second day at the Dubai World Trade Center. This year’s edition witnessed an exceptional turnout from international doctors, specialists, members of dental unions around the world, heads and members of specialized dental associations, in a unique celebration of Dentistry and everyone working in this vital field.

Every year, international companies use AEEDC Dubai as a platform to showcase their latest innovations and smart solutions with the world. AEEDC Dubai’s exhibition, which occupies an area of ​​37,300 square meters, was buzzing with innovative products, smart solutions, and cutting-edge technologies, as well as attendees and visitors who were able to take a close up look into the latest of the field.

One of the most innovative products showcased at AEEDC Dubai 2021 is the “Smart Mobile Dental Clinic”, which was fully designed and engineered in Dubai by “NAFFCO” as an initiative that provides an easy and smart solution for patients in remote areas or those with limited income. On the other hand, ‘Vatech’ showcased a revolutionary technology in the world of dental imaging, with a modern device that was invented to reduce the radiation dose to which the patient is exposed to during the dental imaging process, by reducing the image time, while maintaining the quality and accuracy of the resulting images. Mr. James Ko, Sales and Marketing Manager at ‘Vatech’ stated that ‘Vatech’ has been a participant in AEEDC Dubai for over the past ten years, which opened a new market for them in the region and gave them the opportunity to launch their innovative products to professionals.

In the field of Orthodontics, many leading companies had showcased their products and innovations. Such as American Orthodontics, who are showcasing “Iconix”, a luxuries and premium dental bracket that combine luxury with comfort and durability,

From their side, “Dentsply Sirona” showcased a software that was developed exclusively to give doctors greater freedom when designing a treatment plan for their patients, easily and quickly. The program provides the opportunity for doctors to send information about the medical condition they wish to treat to the largest laboratories and international specialists to receive multiple treatment plans, after which they can choose the most appropriate for their patients, giving them more space to choose the best treatment plan that suits the patient, taking into account the specific time and budget and other factors.

Moreover, day 2 of AEEDC Dubai witnessed various scientific sessions presented by a few of the world’s most prominent names, which discussed key topics such a reconstructive dentistry, Facial Aesthetic Procedures, and many other.  Government of Dubai Media Office – 29 June 2021: His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, today inaugurated the 25th edition of the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai) being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) until 1 July, 2021.

The world’s largest international annual scientific dental conference and exhibition, which is celebrating 25 years of global success at its silver jubilee edition this year, has brought together more than 55,000 visitors and participants from 155 countries.

The organisation of the in-person event in Dubai is another testament to the city’s status as one of the world’s safest destinations for global events. The emirate’s rigorous globally-benchmarked precautionary protocols have enabled it to provide the highest levels of safety for international events.

Since its inception in 1996, AEEDC Dubai has grown in tandem with Dubai’s rise as a leading healthcare destination. The holding of the event reflects the growing momentum of Dubai’s post-pandemic economic recovery, which is creating new opportunities for a range of sectors.

Following the opening, HH Sheikh Ahmed toured the event’s exhibition area, accompanied by HE Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA); HE Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre Authority; Dr. Alawi Alsheikh Ali, Deputy Director General of DHA; Dr. Nasser Khalifa Al Budoor, Assistant Undersecretary, Ministry of Health and Prevention and Director of Dubai Medical District; Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of AEEDC Dubai and Global Scientific Dental Alliance, and Chairman of INDEX Holding; and other prominent participants from the dental community.

As part of the tour, His Highness visited a photo exhibition titled ‘We Will Not Forget You’, featuring images of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Ahmed also visited the stands of the Ministry of Possibilities, the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine, Dubai Dental Hospital, Saudi Dental Society, SAESHIN and Dentsply Sirona and the Italian pavilion.

This year, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was announced as the Guest of Honour for the silver jubilee edition of the event, in recognition of the country’s key role and contribution to the success of AEEDC Dubai over the last 25 years.

Over the past 25 years, AEEDC Dubai has generated more than AED1.5 billion for airlines, more than AED2.8 billion for hotels, over AED200 million for the transportation sector, over AED200 million for the food and beverage sector, over AED100 million in the form of shopping and purchases, and AED150 million for the tourism sector. In total, AEEDC Dubai events have generated revenues worth AED5 billion for the UAE economy.

Furthermore, AEEDC Dubai Student Competition hosts its 12th edition, bringing together some of the most creative dental students representing 24 leading dental colleges and universities from the region and outside, where they compete for the most coveted ‘AEEDC Dubai Knowledge Champion Award’. With over 173 scientific sessions and 18 advanced dental courses and workshop sessions offering advanced dental skills to dentistry professionals coming from the region and the world, the conference is also showcasing 210 poster presentations, which provides attendees an opportunity to learn about the most recent scientific advances in dentistry.

Meanwhile, the 2nd edition of AEEDC Dubai Stars was launched with the presence of a number of celebrities, social media influencers and prominent figures from the Arab world, who actively participated in a number of panel discussions, shared their success stories and popular tips that benefit dentists in improving their clinical expertise and their daily social lives.

The first session of AEEDC Dubai Stars featured a Sports Segment, where Coach Omar Moussalli offered insights to dentists about following a healthy lifestyle. The event also included a session of Dr. Majd Naji, Member of American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Chairman of Liberty Medical Group, followed by the Meet the Master Draw, featuring multiple awards including a unique opportunity to train at Liberty Medical Group with Dr. Majd Naji as well as a chance to win a trip to Italy to visit the Italian dental factory ‘Cefla’ and appear in Dr. Majd Naji’s popular ‘Smile Masters’ show in Italy and Dubai as well as a specialized training in veneers.

Meanwhile, at AEEDC Dubai Stars, Guest of Honor, Suzan Najm Aldeen also spoke about her success story and career while Dr. Moutaz Kokash, presented a session offering tips to promote social media platforms. Additionally, a panel discussion under the title ‘Dental Technicians’ featured a dialogue between CDT. Khayri AlDalati, CEO of Cologne Dental Laboratory, Mr. Abdullah Alsaj, Owner and Ceramicist, Danty Dental Laboratory and Mr. Ibrahim AlAmmari, Dental Technician (CAD-Cam Expert) on the importance of medical laboratories in the field of dentistry and the extent of support provided to doctors. Commenting on his participation, Dr. Jose Manuel Navarro, Certified Periodontist and Implantologist, Spain, said, “During my lecture, I spoke about the way we envision the future of orthodontic treatment with aligners by non-specialist orthodontists. My area of focus is dental implants, bone reparations and prosthetics and recently, with the aid of recent breakthroughs in cloud dentistry, we have been able to treat complicated dental cases with aligners. Today, we are able to take all preliminary images using digital smile technologies and share them in the cloud, which is allowing us to plan for the orthodontic phase from a distance digitally using jointly designed aligners.”

He added, “The introduction of cloud dentistry, telemedicine and the imminent way in which we are able to diagnose digitally is certainly changing the dental profession and the way it is practiced. It has indeed become a necessity to deliver the gold standard of dentistry in years to come.”

Commenting on his participation, Dr. Paul Ashely, Senior Clinical Lecturer, United Kingdom, said, “AEEDC Dubai 2020 presented a broad and varied set of scientific dental topics which were relevant and interesting to dentists coming from across the region and the world. During my lecture topic ‘Dealing with the Pediatric Dental Trauma Patient’ I highlighted some of the most important factors to consider when faced with a child who has had a dental trauma. In particular, I stressed that there is a need for greater understanding about the impact of oral microbiome on oral and general health. In regards to pediatric dentistry, I believe that the failure to manage the high levels of dental decay especially in deprived and inaccessible populations is a major challenge for dental practitioners and more needs to be done in this regard.”

On the sidelines of AEEDC Dubai, the Lebanese University, represented by its President, Professor Fouad Ayoub, and in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Professor Toni Zeinoun, a token of appreciation was awarded to Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of AEEDC Dubai Conference and Exhibition, in gratitude for his efforts in various fields of science and medicine and the advancement of the dental sector in the region. Furthermore, the students of the Lebanese College of Dentistry participating in AEEDC Dubai’s Dental Students Competition have also presented an additional token of appreciation to Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani for the support offered during AEEDC Dubai 2020.

On the third and final day, AEEDC Dubai 2020 featured discussions on many important scientific dental topics such as ‘Modern Concepts to Approach a Full-Mouth Rehabilitation: From the Analogical to the Digital World’, ‘Digital Workflow Accuracy of Implant-Supported Restoration’, ‘Unleashing the Power of Self-Directed Learning’, ‘Shaping the Future of Dental Education Integrating Scientific Discoveries and Technological Advancements’, ‘Prediabetes and Dental Implant Care’, ‘Laser-Assisted Periodontal and Periimplantitis Treatment’, ‘Chemical Plaque Control Strategies: How to Enhance the Clinical Outcomes’, and ‘Pearly Whites from Silver to White? Zirconia Crowns in Pediatric Dentistry’.

Meanwhile, AEEDC Dubai 2020 hosted the GCC Preventive Dentistry Session highlighting the need to encourage dental care among residents and populations in the GCC region, particularly with the rise of oral and dental challenges. Experts attending the Session also spoke about the need to improve the levels of awareness and inculcate good dental hygiene, particularly keeping the interests of children in mind.

Meanwhile, AEEDC Dubai Night, featured many entertainment activities and awards to celebrate the excellence in dentistry in the region and recognized the phenomenal role played by local and international dentistry in raising the bar of dentistry on par with international standards.

The AEEDC Dubai Awards ceremony held at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam Hotel in Dubai, recognized leading doctors, specialists and dental professionals for their invaluable contribution in their respective fields of dentistry.

Furthermore, the ‘AEEDC Dubai Personality of the Year Award’ was awarded to His Excellency Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research of Egypt, and was received on his behalf by Dr. Raafat Hassan Anwar Reyad, Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces Oral and Dental Health Care Services of Egypt. In addition, the AEEDC Dubai International Recognition Award for contribution to global Oro-Dento-Facial Education was offered to Dr. Stanley Malamed, renowned oral anesthesiologist and Professor of Anesthesia Medicine, while the AEEDC Dubai Award for the Most Distinguished Community Personality was awarded to Dr. Majd Naji, Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Chairman of Liberty Medical Group for his outstanding contributions to the Oral Health Profession. Meanwhile, the AEEDC Dubai Artistic Personality of the Year Award was presented to Abdullah Bilkhair and AEEDC Dubai Ambassador Award went to Dr. Rana Al Sowi from Egypt. AEEDC Dubai Night concluded with a number of dance and entertainment performances by leading Emirati Folk Artists and various local entertainment groups from the UAE.

AEEDC Dubai Stars 2020 Concludes:

 AEEDC Dubai Stars 2020 event also concluded with a number of panel discussions, dialogue sessions and entertainment activities, which began with a session on ‘Media and Content Creation in the fields of beauty and fashion’ by Sossi Wartanian, Editor in Chief, Layalina Magazine followed by a session on ‘Bone rehabilitation and the treatment of various problems’ by Dr. Adel Roujoula in addition to a session on the ‘Secrets of success in the digital world’ presented by Dr. Mohamed Sadekli, Orthodontist, Dr. Abdulrahman Jaafary, Founder and Managing Director of Jaafary Smile Center and Dr. Ahmad Jarbou, Medical Director and Founder of Jory Medical Center. AEEDC Dubai Stars also witnessed a number of competitions in which participants won many awards and prizes. The event was attended by many celebrities, influencers and dentists from the region and abroad.

AEEDC Dubai Stars event included the ‘Meet the Master’ Draw, featuring multiple awards including a unique opportunity to train at Liberty Medical Group with Dr. Majd Naji as well as a chance to win a trip to Italy to visit the Italian dental factory ‘Cefla’ and appear in Dr. Majd Naji’s popular ‘Smile Masters’ show in Italy and Dubai as well as a specialized training in veneers.

Running parallel to the conference, the AEEDC Dubai Exhibition occupying an area of 89,250 square meters, featured the presence of 3000 exhibitors and 4000 dental brands showcasing state-of-the-art technologies and latest tools. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Abdullah Al Shammery, Scientific Chairman, Global Scientific Dental Alliance, in the presence of Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of GSDA and AEEDC Dubai, Dr. Tariq Khoory, Honorary Chairman – AEEDC Dubai, Dr. Nasser Al Malik, Scientific Chairman, AEEDC Dubai, Dr. Robert Edwab, Executive Director, Greater New York Dental Meeting, Dr. Mohammed Jafar Abedin, Scientific Vice Chairman, AEEDC Dubai, Dr. Meshari Al Otaibi, President, Makkah International Dental Conference and Exhibition, Eng. Today, newer materials and technology are playing a significant role in overcoming the challenge posed by affordable care. Consequently, by using new advances in technology, more care can be distributed to larger populations. With better access to affordable care, we can lower the levels of tooth decay and tooth loss which hugely impact the long-term health of patients. Access to oral healthcare and medical healthcare will then lead to lower levels of mortality and higher life spans.”
On the sidelines of AEEDC Dubai 2020 Conference and Exhibition, a Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation (MoU) was signed between INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding, and Al Farabi Private College in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of their endeavors to cooperate and coordinate in various events, exchange experiences via scientific and educational publications, and to promote the events organized by INDEX. AEEDC Dubai Student Competition 2020 Concludes

The AEEDC Dubai Student competition 2020 concluded on the second day of AEEDC Dubai 2020, which enabled students of different universities and colleges to share their knowledge in various fields of dentistry and compete to win the coveted “AEEDC Knowledge Champion 2020”.

This year, AEEDC Dubai Student Competition participation came from some of the most prominent dental colleges and universities in the region including, Al-Esraa University College, AlFarabi Colleges of Dentistry and Nursing – in Riyadh, Dar Al Uloom University, Gulf Medical University, Hawler Medical University, Ibn Sina National College for Medical Studies, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, College of Dentistry, King Faisal University, King Khalid University, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Kuwait University, Lebanese University, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Majmaah University, New Giza University, Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, Qassim University, College of Dentistry, Riyadh Elm University, Saratov State Medical University, Taibah University, The British University in Egypt, Umm Al Qura University, University of Georgia and University of Sharjah.

‘AEEDC Dubai Stars 2020’ continues:

Day 2 activities of AEEDC Dubai Stars 2020 continued with the presence of a number of celebrities, social media influencers and prominent figures from the Arab world, who offered their insights and shared their experiences during a number of panel discussions and success stories while also offering popular tips for the benefit of practicing dentists.

On the second day, AEEDC Dubai Stars 2020 began with a Sport Segment hosted by Coach Omar Moussalli, who offered additional insights to dentists about following a healthy lifestyle, followed by an interview with the Guest of Honor, Emirati Artist Abdullah Belkhair. Dubai – United Arab Emirates, 5 February, 2019: Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, officially inaugurated today the 23^rd UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition – AEEDC Dubai, which is taking place until the 7^th of February, 2019 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year, the 3-day premier global dental gathering brings together 155 world renowned speakers in dentistry, who will offer new insights into the latest treatment advances in dentistry while also focusing on the scientific and technology breakthroughs that are revolutionizing the dental industry. In addition, the conference features 16 hands-on workshops, 175 scientific sessions on a wide range of topics.

After the opening ceremony, His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior health officials from the government and private sector, along with well-known figures and experts in the field of dentistry, toured the exhibition area. During the tour, representatives of some of the biggest brands in dentistry briefed the delegation about the latest technology advances in the field that are extremely helpful for dentistry practitioners in their diagnosis and treatment. This year, the exhibition occupies an overall space of 85,250 square meters, covering 4 major country pavilions represented by Germany, Italy, Korea and China. The exhibition also attracted 2,732 local and international companies and witnessed the participation of over 4,000 international brands.

On this occasion, His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami expressed, on behalf of the Dubai Health Authority, his appreciation for this great annual event – AEEDC Dubai- which is considered one of largest global platforms for dental equipment and technology. His Excellency also said that Dubai has a strong presence in the international medical arena and such conferences and exhibitions represent a natural reflection of the great interest of the Government of Dubai in the health sector and its keenness to take the initiative and contribute to the development of medicine and its sciences and technologies and all practices related to the medical profession.

This year, AEEDC Student Competition which runs until the 6^th of February, on the sidelines of AEEDC Dubai conference, brings together dental students from many leading dental colleges and universities in the region for a face-to-face competition. Moreover, the conference showcases 201 poster presentations, offering students and participants a unique opportunity to share their research papers and case studies.

For the first time, AEEDC Dubai witnessed the launch of ‘AEEDC Dubai Stars 2019’ which included a series of competitions as well as many fun and entertainment activities to foster a competitive spirit among celebrity dentists, influencers, experts and industry professionals.

AEEDC Dubai Stars program also features a panel discussion among experts who share their experiences on ‘Life and dentistry’ while also involving key sessions on AEEDC Dubai Ambassadors, Smile Masters, Motivation Session, Success Stories and Lifestyle Tips and Tricks among other entertainment activities.

Additionally, the program launched ‘The ‘Best Composite Filling Competition’, which is a lively contest being held for the first time in AEEDC Dubai, where dentistry practitioners, dental students and experts compete with each other to determine who would be able to complete the perfect composite filling task in 15 minutes.

Secondly, the ‘Best Veneers in AEEDC Dubai Stars 2019 Competition’ task is tailored for dentists, dental students and experts and specifically aimed at identifying who possesses the talent and the skill to fix the best veneers in 15 minutes.

Furthermore, the ‘Best Root Canal Filling’ in AEEDC Dubai Stars 2019 competition offers dentists, students and professionals a chance to showcase their Root Canal Filling skills. The challenge, which involves attention and skill, identifies who has the necessary talent and expertise to finish the Root Canal Filling task in 15 minutes.

Moreover, ‘Meet the Master with AEEDC Dubai Stars 2019’ presents winners a chance to get a fully covered unforgettable training experience in Dubai and Italy with Dr. Majd Naji, Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Chairman of Liberty Medical Group.
